crank angle sensor location

i am doing a 3FE head - 2F short block combo for my FJ40. i just noticed that the 3FE distributor advance is controlled by the computer, not by springs and vacuum.

where is the crank angle sensor? is that something embedded in the crank on a 3FE? can i install it on a 2F short block?

i am so lost...

TIA

There is no crank sensor in a 3FE.

It's all in the distributor.
