What 2 do?

I just got a 1985 Cruiser that is all stock but dont run, no compression in the last 3 cylinders. I bought a 1986 for parts, it has a 21st Century Hotrods fuel injection system on it and seems to run good. I was wondering if I should swap just the motor and use the stock carb or swap in the fuel injection. I am just getting it running then I am selling it, realy need money rite now or I would keep it.

If you're just trying to get it running and then sell it, I would do which ever was cheapest/easiest. Personally i would rather buy a cruiser stock then with an aftermarket fuel injection that I know nothing about.

Stock will get you a higher price on the 85, & then you could sell the injection setup for a fair amount, too.

You haven't had any fun at all until you deal with the mess of emissions control hoses & vacuum devices on the stock engine. You'll have a master's in Cruisology by the time you get that right. Who knows what the PO of the injected rig did to all that stuff to get the injection working.

I have been told to rip all the vacuum lines and smog stuff off while the motor is out but it seems to all be there and nothing missing. It dont look that bad I have seen way more vacuum lines on a Honda. Is there anything other than the clutch that I mite want to check or replace while the motor is out and easy to get to?

Rear main seal, but it's often misdiagnosed. Check the clutch for oil. If it's dry but you have drips in that area, it's the pan gasket.

AAAAAAHHH What a pain in the a$$ this is. I finally found some good vacuum diagrams on the autozone web site that helped. I need to swap the air injection tube but mine started breaking when I took it off. I called the dealer and got excited when they said they had one, then told them where to stick it when they said it was $400. Screw that anyone got a better, cheaper idea?

Where do you live in OR?

Try selling it without the smog stuff in eastern OR.
