Turbo 2F with propane injection
I know of this guy by my house that has a FJ40 with a SOA and 39" pitbull rockers. He currently has a header with a weber 32/36 but he wants more power and is seriously considering making the 2F turbo with propane injection.
Has any one seen a turbo 2f before? How does propane injection work?
I can't wait to see how it turns out

Jim has since sold that rig. Worked well while he was playing with it, but he had some problems with the custom manifold cracking from thermal flex.

5 years or so.. not a single issue with the turbo..
ignition issues yes.. carb issues yep.. Nothing that a bit of tinkering has not solved yet tho..
All in all it is a very consistent system..

no blowoff valve.. it is a draw through system so it does not need it.
impco 425 fed T04 through stock manifolds.
Easy actually.

Be a bummer if the shocks flexed into the motor

Yes, and it was very funny too
Your rig seems to take a beating and hasnt broke that much....must be nice on the trail to not really think of that stuff. I prob would not care though if I trailer'd it there ...My ass always has to drive it that 12 hour drive home for work on monday...
I asked Woody how it was to to drive your rig with the turbo in it (with his arms in the air like they were on a steering wheel) he said "it was fun"....

The turbo is just a Garret T04. Nothin special.
The kit that uses the turbo was a limited production unit from AU.
I traded a set of ringed longs for it

do you have a muffler or just let the turbo take up the exaust noise?

That is not a Pyro. It is an O2 sensor. No clue on the EGT's but the motor runs VERY cool..
No muffler on this rig. just a 3" straight pipe.

so if it's a carbureted blow-through system, what's with the o2 sensor?

It is a carbed draw through system. And I have a digital controller for the propane system (closed loop propane )
Plus I am running a Rich/lean gauge for tuning..

Do you have a diagram or a schematic of how that works? I'm not familiar with propane systems.
