aussie lockers - where are they?
Has anyone heard when they expect to have some in stock? I've left messages but received no response.

Im in the same boat!
Ordered 3 weeks ago! Last I heard, they were supposed to be getting A FEW in this past Monday. I called em yesterday wondering when I could expect them...Someone is supposed to call me back. Well see wether or not that happens.
If they say that they wont have them soon, Im gonna go with a lockright from Cruiseroutfitters, who has them for 269.00, or something around there.
Its BULL*HIT that no one gets back to you!
I really wanted the Aussies though! Ive heard nothing but good things about them. They should at least keep people informed who have ordered, informed. Its poor customer service IMOP!

Give it time. How long has either been out there? IF its the same design it will fail at some point. Honestly, these are all really good designs.

i am in the same boat with the Aussie people. I placed my order a month ago and they gave me back my money 2 weeks ago. They told me that they did not know when they would be getting them in stock and that I would get free shipping if I was still interested when the did get them in.
I called them today and was told that I would get a call back (second time I have been told that) and did not get a call today (same thing as last time). So I think that I am going with the lockright. Just need to find one now.

I went through the same stuff as you DirtyToad...
I called, and called...I found that the e mail feature is the easiest way to actually get a response from them.
The last I heard from them, they had 300 people on a waiting list for these lockers they had to get hold of!
I had my money refuded without issues, and now Im going to go with a lockrite.
Kurt at www.cruiseroutfitters.com has them at a good price.
I put a call into him yesterday.
Its too bad for the Aussie company...I have a feeling this has GOTTA put a hurtin on them, cuz Im fairly certain they are issueing a LOT of refunds.
Apparenty its a problem with the manufacturer!
Good luck!

Slow boat from Australia. Year end inventories were allowed to fall, but the demand did not fall. ARB clearence center in Seattle is expecting a container to clear customs on or about March 1st. This is all second hand info so take it with a grain of salt.

Yeah is it too bad for em. I had a better than I coulda asked for experience w/ Bill from Aussie, and would buy again in a heartbeat. Having said that, a co. sometimes can do nothing to help a supply dry-up, but to not call back potential customers........?
I'm inclined to give'em the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. That's how good they treated me the first time.
Bill or someone from Aussie is a member of Mud........what say you about all of this?

Could someone who is familiar with both the Aussie and the Lockrite enlighten us as to the difference between them, however subtle they may be?

It's been a while since I've had them both in front of me... What I remember is that the windows on the Aussie where you insert the springs are different and a little easier to use and it uses a single spring instead of the spring-in-a-spring like the Lockright.
There may be other little differences, but they looked pretty interchangable to me.

Aussie Locker
We have had a dramatic increase in sales since November, and the factory has had significant difficulty in getting production ramped up to fill our backorders. We did get three hundred mixed models in last week and all were used to fill back orders. We have another shipment due in two weeks and we are hoping that with the exception of the XD21230 we will be in a stocking condition for a while. The XD21230 is scheduled to ship to us the first week of March. We hired a customer fulfillment company to handle our phone orders and to respond to customer questions on product availability. This was to provide better phone response to our customers, but clearly this is not working. We apologize for those that did not receive a call back and on Monday we will try to recover any messages that were not returned and call them ourselves. We will also remove the responsibility of dealing with late shipment questions from their services and handle them ourselves.
In the almost 4 years of supplying Aussie Lockers we still have never seen a broken Aussie Locker even when they a have been subjected to incredible carnage from broken axles, and other environmental issues that have nothing to do with the design, manufacturing or quality of the locker. Anything made by man can be broken, but we have yet to see one.
There are 22 differences between the Aussie Locker and the competition.
We appreciate our loyal customers and we apologize for the problems they have had in getting a response to delivery issues that have plagued us from time-to-time.

Aussie locker,
If Landcruiser lockers are supposed to ship to you the first week of March, when would that theoretically mean they could ship to us?
thanks.

We usually have the lockers in our stock 7 days from date of shipment from Australia. So our guess would be no later than the 13th and a good chance sooner.

Funny, I got an email response from them too last week, and was told that they would be getting "a few" next month. "A few" to me doesnt amount to plenty. That, and it took three phone calls and two emails to get an over week late reply!

Must be more than one person responding to emails. They might not all be on the same page.
Got mine today anyway 2 x xd21230 NIB off Portland CL came with a free set of 40 axles drum to drum.
Good luck!

Aussie Locker
We order in many hundreds, and sometimes only get 30 or 40 in one shipment, so that consititues "a few". Again, we apologize that our fullment supplier has not followed up on phone messages and we have changed our relationship with them effective today.

Jason,
Those are usually sent direct by the consultant who does the product evaluation. We will contact him and find out if he sent it or what the status is. We do know that the lockers were to spec. and that there were signs of environmental issues that would have been the cause, but since he could not personally look at the diff, axles, etc. he had to make is evaluation based on the locker set itself and on the signs that worn cross shafts, broken or bent axles or axle tubes and other environmental factors cause.

My 2 cents, take it for what its worth. I would love it if Aussie Locker would set up some sort of a dealer program. Not only would it help sell more product, but it would help keep product "on the shelf" in the future. A company can only feasable keep so much active inventory... but if you guys were selling the product, you could afford to step up production. I would love to be able to offer the Aussie Locker and likely would have sold dozens of them this year based on my Lockright sales... However without some inventive and price break for the vendors, I don't see the point.

Give the aussie people a chance to make it right... There was accidentaly a typo when they shipped mine and after looking for it at my door when It did not appear the day it was supposed to I found they missed my address by one digit so UPS could not deliver it. One phonecall to them and it was at my door the next day and they even refunded my shipping costs. Also in my install I had some tech questions and my phone call was returned after hours on a weekend!!! now that is excellent service in my book!!
