| I have come down with something..... It is an overwhelming need to buy extraneous Toyotas.
I found this nearby:
From the owner--
"I have a 1986 FJ-60 LC that is complete for the most part, minus the lights/front grill area, and has 88' doors and gate. Other than that, it is complete. It is light grey with grey interior. It had a seized motor, but the tranny, starter, radiator, alternator, t-fer case, interior, all the glass, are all in working order. I had originally bought the vehicle to be used as a parts vehicle as well for my girlfriend's 62. Most of the parts were interchangeable, but she was supposed to help me with the disassembly and so forth. Well, you know how that goes, as the vicarious female was no longer vicarious after ONE long day at working with it. Nonetheless, I will take no less than $300 for it as I can ebay the alternator, starter, radiator, and simply roll it to the crusher and get more than that in the end. So, convenience being the factor. It will roll on its own wheels though, and has useable Bridgestone Dueler At's with good tread but some dry rotting. I am not sure what I did with the title, as I was never planning on titling the vehicle. I can probably meet you today if you have time, or tomorrow."
I was just looking for validation that $300 seems pretty reasonable for a somewhat complete parts cruiser. I haven't seen it yet myself, though I will tonight or tomorrow. I just hope the brakes still function so I can tow it a short distance on a chain. I don't have room to store it, so my folks will be real excited if/when it comes up their driveway.
And "NO" I will not divulge this vehicle's secret location at this time.

| Yeah, I can think of a lot of reasons to buy it. Can anyone make a good case for NOT buying it?
The fact that I'm on this board ought to give a good idea of which way i'm leaning.
Just out of curiosity, for those who might be reading....
How long did it take for you to buy your second cruiser after getting your first?
It took me about 3-4 months....if I go through with it.
The really sick thing is....I already found yet another one here in KC, and I'm told that it has a nice winch bumper + winch ready to go....I'll have to go see what that one looks like. I'm told that it is a rust bucket though.
I may be the proud owner of 3 60s by sunday.
As an aside, I am not one to name my vehicles, but if it keeps multiplying....I may name it "Rabbit".

Almost hit 4 (third 60) but was informed that wouldn't be a good idea for my marriage... 80 is for sale now so I'm going back to two. I think it will be an ongoing condition.

| Matt, I'll let you know if I pass up on this.
I hope it has a nice tailgate, mine is dented and has a crack in it. If it has nice rear fenders, those might get cut and scarfed into mine to defeat the rust? Plus with it being an 86, I believe I could use the driveshafts and t-case to make swapping an H55 into my 84 easier......i think. Plus having the extra set of axles to rebuild over time for an eventual lift (either OME or SOA) will help to minimize downtime. Yeah, as long as this thing isn't completely held together with rust molecules, i'll probably be dragging it home tomorrow.

| I sold a running parts FJ62 for 700.00. The rear third of the frame was unsafe due to rust.

| I haven't bought this truck yet, but I am going to. If it gets parted to someone living in Missouri, there will be quite a mark up....since I'm a Jayhawk.
The weather conspired against me last weekend to buy the truck....I didn't feel like dragging it home in the snow and ice. Then, my father passed away from cancer earlier this week, so, I think once things settle down next week, a little wrenching therapy may be in order. Although, it will not be the same without him standing there talking me through things.

| Sorry to hear about your dad.
If it has a gray interior, I may be interested in some pieces. As long as you dont mind shipping to Omaha (I'm NOT a cornhusker).
Thanks, Hodag
