My 84 60 is valued at 4175 (on NADA) for stock with 162xxx. I think you could go for at least 4500, I would say higher but the mileage that we call low is what others others call high. That paint also looks really good. But then again everyone knows that these are valued more than what NADA and KBB says. Just my opinion.

Thanks Kline'. The last time I looked, the blue book was about 4500.
I'm looking for recent acutal sales for nice clean '89s.

This one has almost no rust. The only rust is on the rear license lamp cover. Nothing on the sheet metal.

Yeah, no problem. I noticed you mentioned scouts? Are you a scoutmaster or assistant scoutmaster?

Damn...that sucks dude. Glad you are all safe. IMO the damage doesn't look that bad. Besides the damage, your cruiser looks real clean. If deemed totaled... you could always get a slavaged title.

Yes, I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster. I'm lucky enough to have three boys who enjoy camping and out doors. Our oldest is in Boy Scouts and our younger two are still in Cubs. I figure I've got at least 11 more years of camping to go.

I'm an instructor in archery and climbing & repelling so far. I'm getting my COPE facilitator training this winter.

It's a lot of fun. I just finished my WoodBadge training course. Working on my tickets.

Were/are you a Scout? Scouter?

mkaustin-
i was in boyscouts, then after a whole summer my troop finally told me they had meetings... no one called me or anything. and the summer before that we had none so i suspected the same. I have given up for the most part. I was really close to getting second class, before i stopped going. I loved going to the campouts and etc. just now it is near impossible to finish, i have been 16 for since sept 19 and havent even reached second class yet. i wish my troop wouldve called.

I am not a auto body expert at all, however there could certainly be frame damage with a hit that hard. The bumper is very fawked up, and that is a strong bumper!

They will try and total it. You can always keep the truck and get the money without having a salvage title. I can imaging that they would charge you more than $800 salvage price. If they do total it and dont want to pay you much you can alway request that they replace it. That is a good way to get there thinking up. Most policy's require the ins to repair or replace the truck.

Demand that the insurer replace the vehicle and send them to TLC to find one.

Man, I feel for you. This happened to me two years ago. The insurance company offered me $2200 based on "local" values. I went and looked at the cruisers they were referring to (all two of them) and they were complete rust buckets. I fought it, told them to replace it with one in similar condition I would have to do a national search. I searched on the internet and came up with an average value of $6000, and over 200 vehicles. I faxed all of them to the insurance company (which really pissed them off because they are supposed to verify the price of the vehicles) instead they offered me $5500 and we settled (I had paid $3000 for it the month before). I know that it doesn't directly answer your question but I think it might help. The only thing I wish I would have done is keep it as a parts truck. But they wanted to sell it back to me for $2000 (keep in mind that they told me it was only worth $2200 originally)

If it helps I just bought a 90 FJ62 in good shape for the midwest for $1800. If I found one that looks as good as yours was I'd have paid up to $6000.

Want to thank every one for their input. I've spoken w/ Wemberly-4-Wheel (Central TX guru) and they is saying that the insurance will most likely try to total it due to age and lack of parts availablty.
I plan to make them replace it if they try that. Thanks Fawldarr for your input from your experience.

I'm already making plans to get it fixed one way or another. It's just too good of a truck to let go.

Sorry 'bout the experience that you had w/ your Troop. Just because it would be tuff to complete the requirements to make Eagle rank, does not prevent you from being active. There are still opportunities in Scouting if you want to participate. The Venturing program goes all the way up through age 20 and includes lots of outdoor and high-adventure challenges.

Hope that you enjoyed it enough to consider being an ASM later on.

To all others, sorry for the off-topic discussion. I promise to start a chat thread next time.
