That rig IS similar mine, I think thats Loomis' 60. My mates showed pics of every chopped 60 they found when I started mine. That is a nice rig

Amazing that 2 dudes can build a truck 600 miles apart and have the cabs nearly identical. I think thats cool

If I dont go with the silver, I will probably go pink, only for the wow (or that dude must be crazy, wierd, different) factor

Why not both Pink AND Yellow? Pink cab with yellow tray and wheels or the reverse?

Yeah mate no worries, if you are not in a hurry anything can happen. My work is painfully slow and frightfully expensive in beer costs, But hey it will happen.

Dont loose faith mate, your electrical woes are nearly over, I can feel it
you will be shortly

Paint has been bought, It is in my 2 hands right now, there will be colour on my rig shortly. I am not going overboard with the body work but I am expecting good results.

I will post up some progress shots shortly, need to do some more rubbing first

Cheers

Paul

paint is on, at least on the body, I have paint all over me. Looks ok too, needs a couple of repairs but, I like it. Look for the finished product in ROTW. Hope secrets can be kept.

Well, I have my rig up as a ROTW so I guess I can post some pictures of it to this thread, so here goes

in the 2 months I mentioned earlier i managed to get all of the hanging panels (doors, guards, bonnet, and valance) in primer ready for paint

here is the final rub down ready for paint later that night

23 March 08

rubbing down with my daughter

paint being applied

new paint, still wet, straight off the gun

this is what it looked like the next day (taken with my phone)

and one with my kids

4 April 08

My number 1 helper

Paint going down on the other panels

which brings me to the ROTW photos

cab all put together, tray on, with 36 inch tyres

enjoy

Paul

been doing a bit more work to the Warthog this weekend, pulled the pan off the Turbo 400 and replaced the pan gasket to try to stop it leaking and built myself an exhaust.............

twin 3 inch into 3 1/2 inch single through the small muffler and out near the rear wheel, should be plenty loud and V8 growl.

Paul

Cool rig man! But your choise of colour

To me , and i guess to most northern-europeans, those colours just say "tjćna.. jag er svensk!" Meaning "howdy i'm swedish"

hahaha, being from australia, I didnt think of that. It was going to be silver and blue, but had a last minute paint colour change. most people associate it with some sport team or other.

to me it says " howdy I am an Aussie redneck who chopped up a perfectly good cruiser and painted it yellow and blue"

hahahaha

That is exactly how I want to chop my mates white 60, but he is a little aprehensive about the amount of work. I think it will look great, retains the 60 series feel, while reducing the roofline.

yeah!,, it's really cool. It looks to me as the small window on the rear doors and part of the rear-door window-frame has been used. If one wanted to one could cut the top 4" of any hilux-bed and get a nice edge on the bed..

Just make him do it.. I'm sure you'll have most of it done in a weekend, atleast the major components..(lots of fiddeling afterwards i guess)
If one has a good plan on how to cut/join pieces it should be all fun!
