iPod System

Just got in my Harmon/Kardon Drive+Play today and installed it into my 84 FJ60.
It has a screen and a controller, and a brain.
The screen I have on the dash, right of the gauge "hump."
The controller is mounted right of the steering column below the 4WD Light.
Then I have the brain underneath a Wal-Mart drink holder thing. It conceals the iPod and the little brain.
So the only thing really obvious is the screen. Which I'll will probably cover up with a hat or something.
It looks pretty slick. Tell me what you think. . .
I might put daytime pictures up tomorrow.

Very nice. I'm interested in seeing some daytime shots. I debated on going with the HK system for my rig, but opted to wait until Alpine releases their Bluetooth steering wheel remote so I can get one of their "Fullspeed" decks that offers full iPod control. Right now I use a Kenwood with their iPod interface. Not much for control over the iPod, but it does the job, for now.

Exclamation Daytime

Sorry for the late reply, pictures in the daytime...

The Screen on the dash. I ran the wire towards the windshield, and since I have a dash cover I ran the wire under the dash cover and out the bottom left corner seen in the next picture with the controller

The wire from the controller goes behind the front of the dash, and runs out in the next picture.

The wire on the left is the controller wire and the bigger wire on the right is the wired adapter.

This is just a shot up behind the dash the silver box is the adaptor.

Those run to where I keep the brain. hehe

Secret agent man....

Power you say. Well it came with a adapter for a DC so I ran the power cable from the brain to an extra DC outlet I had under my seat. You can also hardwire it if you wish.

Ask questions til you cant type.
