I do have another 10 tailgates in production, I have been dragging my feet a bit in order to get a plastic lid option going. And in the middle of that, my welder bit the dust! I am back up and running now with a new welder (and a plasma cutter, just 'cause it was so cool)

And, I have been getting parts made for variations of the 1/4s. They are much more custom that the tailgates. So far I have had to design around the presence or lack of:
Rear seat belts
Speakers
Washer bag
Vinyl wheel well trim
Cable opening gas door
Expansion chamber
Interior plastic trim (I think I've got it to work with either in this case)
Most of these things change the outer profile, but between the 60 and 62 the entire door assembly has to change to accommodate the seat belts.

So I have been making progress on that front, but the holiday season combined with getting our truck all spiffed up for a road trip on the 1st has slowed things up quite a bit. (that part is selfish, I know )

I have also been trying to make a website to put all this info on, that way I can have a Mud banner add that will actually link to something. This whole thing is getting kinda serious, and I don't want to be a forum free-loader.

I should post this over in the for sale thread as an update, and I think I will have euclid move that thread to the "Merchandise Storefront" section.

Post away, this is all public info.
I am a bit confused though, what is the thread? Perhaps it is not loading properly on my browser, but it just looks like the opening page of the forum?

Thanks for the update Kevin!

No rush, we all have holiday pressures!

Did not realize there were so many quarter panel variations.

When the time comes, it might be a good idea to send you a picture of the inside of our quarter panels ... not to sound dirty or anything. Just to make sure we are ordering the correct version.

x2 on updating & photo idea.

I ordered a used PS rear cargo replacement panel from back east, and got a panel with a gap near the rear seat. E's back n forth resulted in me keeping the panel, as well as the appropriate (missing) piece from the puppy-chewed panel I was fixing, so that I had a future template.

Who knew there was so much variation in just 1984 FJ60's?

keep up the good work Kevin!!

Yup, I think every 1/4 panel that gets made will have to be a "custom" job. That is if anybody still wants one after I figure out what it will cost!
Each side has at least twice as much of a material investment over the tailgates, and then there are 2 sides, I think they will go together faster than the tailgates, but then there is all the custom back and forth, I wont be able to get the parts in quantities since they will all be different, so that means I will also have to make multiple trips to my laser guys shop........

Mine is in!

This thing is awesome. I haven't filled it with anything yet, but it should come in handy for small stuff that doesn't have a good home. I threw down some Second Skin Damplifier as well. Overall the thing is super solid and I like it a lot, thanks Kevin.

This foto makes it look like the space is almost nothing when the door is closed. how'd that happen? I don't have my space saver yet so can't answer my own question.

It's plenty of space for a tree saver, some jumper cables, gloves and a small 1st aid kit.

That's great Dylan!

Hey Steve, I am not making any claims as to cavernous space availability.
But I have found that there is a good bit of room in there.

Here are some new pics to show what I stuffed in mine (with room to spare)

Hey, I'm into optical hallucinations, er, uh, I mean delusions.... uh, whatever. The pic just struck me funny and there is all sort of good room there, to be sure. Can't wait until my number comes up but I will. Tow staps, jumper cables, dog towels, work coveralls, shop rags, etc., etc., etc., have a way of taking up space further forward of the tailgate. Kevin's fully finished product is ingenious and frees up room for heavier hard goods to be placed further into the center of the truck. Stuffing is good and not just at Thanksgiving.

Yeah I know that I'm the bottom of the bottom of the list but Kevin I'd love a full set of your space savers.

Starting with post #24 here I show most of the stuff I keep in the truck at all times.
For me the tailgate is mostly secondary/overflow storage other than the axe and the saw.
so:
Axe
Saw
Work light
Shovel
OE jack handles
Bungee cords
Chain bungees
Variety of tie downs (60s do not come with d-rings, I put some in though)
Roll of papers towels
Trailer wiring
WD40
Small grease gun (in a plastic bag)
Super siphon
Gloves
Lock & cable
Brake bleeder
Hammer
Bug Spray
RainX
Oil filter wrench
Xtra dog food & a Tennis ball
And a random collection of other stuff at any given moment.

With kevin's help, I put mine in yesterday! I filled it with a bunch of crap including a long breaker bar, gear lube, jack stand uprights, a siphon, some atf, a hammer, the top clamp and foot for my high lift and an old pair of jeans to line the bottom with. Believe it or not, even without insulation, nothing rattles around although I will be putting in insulation at some point.

I'll put up pics when I can get them off my phone. Thanks Kevin! I LOVE IT!!
