Yes I did this exact project.

Two ways to fix this:
Option 1
1) You need new driveshafts, need to move the cross-member, and only BJ70 pedal hangers will fit the firewall without heavy modifications. Added to which, if you are using Cdn BJ70 pedal hangers, then you need to use a Cdn clutch booster because the JDM one won't work with the Cdn and vice-versa

Option 2
2) I have a torque converter from a 1985 BJ74 for $400. I sold the tranny to an HZJ74 guy and he didn't the want the torque converter as it wouldn't fit his input shaft.
