Holy Smokes, I went to snatch the t-case out of the pig and was amazed at what I found. What appears to be the idler shaft has mysteriously vanished from my t-case.
The cover that bolts on it has broken off and the idler shaft must have took a vacation with it. Also there isn't a drop of gear oil in it and it looks as though the transmission is wet with oil? I didn't yet pull the fill plug to see if it's overfull. I just checked the t-case level the last time I serviced it, I don't get it. The shaft cover is almost even with the t-case fill plug so I don't think I would have lost all the oil out of it but who knows? Guess I'll start my search for a new idler shaft and rebuild kit for the t-case. Any advise is appreciated. Thanks.
