I checked the o-ring on both the 2UZ-FE/1FZ-FE oil filter and the metal part where it seals the 1FZ-FE engine, and it's identical in size and thread to the 1HD-T oil filter.
Changed it to the smaller 2UZ-FE/1FZ-FE oil filter of course, but I do wonder what would have been the benefits/issues/troubles if I kept that 1HD-T engine oil filter in there?

No idea, but the 15600-41010 is visibly larger than the other. Maybe it is meant for different markets with different driving conditions? That is good info, Drexx, now we know the 1HZ/1HDT filter fits the 1FZFE and the 2UZFE!
