The 81'+ FJ40/FJ60's received vented rotor upgrades then, but I don't think the calipers are any different. Usually when you get a donor axle for the conversion the calipers need/should rebuilding and the rotors need replacing. If you want all new, then you upgrade to FJ60 vented rotors, and buy new Mini Truck IFS 4 piston calipers. I believe you can upgrade to the vented rotors first and then swap out the calipers later, but that is the best Land Cruiser front disc setup you can get. I am running this setup in mine and they stop my 38's great.

The knuckles were upgraded to the larger pattern in 76'. I have not extensively researched the difference between the 62 knuckles and others, but if they added anything it would be minimal at best. If you really want the best knuckles and steering studs possible, then you need a set of 6 stud knuckles from Trail Gear, and then a set of 4x4Labs high steer arms for them. Depending on how hardcore you plan to ride will depend on the extent of how far you will need to go with this.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jeremy
