I've had mine off I think 4 times now for various rounds of welding and repair. Looking back I should have just spent the $180 and bought a new pan. But if you are careful and can actually get it clean it will work out fine. I cut the edges of the plate off and welded them to the pan. Then it started leaking out below the drain plug, so on this last round I welded a smaller nut inside the old drain hole, put in a smaller plug, and JB welded over all my older questionable welds. Not a drop has hit the floor yet, but the motor's been in the truck for less than 24 hours.
