the pictures show the imprint from the garter spring that was knocked off the back of the seal during assembly. The garter got between the shoulder of the flange and the slinger. After the garter was chewed up & spit out, the flange was loose.
Put it together correctly and run it. if it makes noise, then you'll have to pull the diff out and change bearings. Probably not.
