'71 FJ40; F Engine. I have a non-vacuum distributor which requires a mechanical distributor. Ordered a Mallory hi performance Unilite 454101 digital distributor with infrared triggering (totally maintenance free), 29216 hi-output coil; 29351 active power filter...hooked them up in less than 2 hours (novice) and my babe idles at 650, 15-16# M/P; and timing spot on at the BB. Turn-key starts.

Took out the low rating Delco-Remy points distributor and coil...which idled terribly, could not keep consistant M/P; and consitantly had a run-on problem at shutoff; below average acceleration.....now no more timing, no more adjusting points, no more mixture adjustments, nothing but fun..all the difference in the world.

This is a highly recommended upgrade...I understand Mallory makes a vacuum distributor the same as this one......
