The beauty of a 14 bolt is the gear setup is easy, they are bulletproof, cheap and a Detroit is cheap, disc brakes are cheap. Pretty much the perfect one ton rear axle. Super strong and cheap.

Good luck and let us know how the hunt goes. Also, if you find more than one (especially chevy front 60), you might want to let Keith know about it. (Stirring the pot)

Yep, pretty much the bomb proof way to go. My 14 bolt is getting treated to a complete chop, not just a shave!!! You RARELY hear folks breaking them....but it is possible. The disc brake set up is crazy cheap and you lose a ton of weight getting rid of the drums. The brackets are only like 40 bucks or so for a pair, and the rest can be found at the junkyard at a low price!

I will keep ya'll updated. I want to find one kinda quick now that I have a motor/trans for my buggy. Hopefully by mid August we will be laying the tube down, we are taking the measurments tomorrow!!!
