The copper stuff is great for intake and exhaust stuff but for the oil pan you want the black stuff. I've been using ultra black with extra oil resistance and it seems to work well. If you can get your pan off an actually get it clean and free of paint, rust flakes, and oil some JB weld will likely fix it up fine. I cut the edges of the plate off mine to weld the pan up, then I JB welded it over all the seams and it holds fine. A new pan is in my future eventually, but I have to recover from my engine rebuild costs for a while. Mine isn't pretty, but it works.
