But it will be lighter which helps with ONE of my issues (weight).
I just dont think that I can get the wife on board with a flat bed. She will camp in a tent and all that, but for instances like the wagon Rubicon run where it is raining and cold...That is what makes her unhappy and less apt to go.

Actually the flat bed option would be the BEST option. Shave a ton of weight, simplify some things, and I could leave the axels alone. The route I was thinking of going was gonna cost BIG MONEY is beefed axels, bigger tires and a ton of work stretching the wheel base. Jack and I talked about it, and it was a grim scenario for my check book.
