Joe took the notes but handed them off to Andrew as we were leaving (I think).
I reviewed the BOD meeting and follow-on list serv discussions regarding:
- Appealing to new members (not just focusing on renewals)
- Increasing support from the dedicated and willing
- Reducing costs
Several proposals ar being discussed, including the following:
- Proposed tiered membership
- Premium (a sticker and some swag for ~$70/yr)
- Regular (no change)
- Trail-less (saves shipping and printing costs if TT is viewed online, a significant savings for international members
- Proposed targeted advertising campaign to have vendors insert TLCA membership and event flyers in outgoing orders in exchange for discount advertising in Trails
- Proposed increased outreach/appeal via more visible presence at trail and river clean-ups, land-use forums, etc.
- Expanded TLCA Store
In a nutshell, TLCA is facing funding constraints and needs to reduce costs and increase revenues. Everyone who has run out of TLCA windshield cards should renew their stock (from Felix) and start actively recruiting at the local level.
