Well guys, I know it's short notice, but I may need to request a semi-emergency HAMOM.

The reason I couldn't make it to the URE ride this past weekend was that I had a couple of things on the 4Runner to look at to see what was wrong to get it ready for the 4Runner Jamboree in a couple weeks. The first problem, a suspected bad front u-joint wasn't as bad as I thought. Turns out that I'm pretty sure the sound I was hearing was the driveshaft rubbing ever so slightly on the exhaust. no big deal. However, the other problem that I discovered is one that I made need some help with.

Background: When I blew my rear diff at GSMTR last year I decided to move my low-pinion ARB'd diff from the front to the rear and got a hi-pinion ARB'd diff for the front. It was a real tight fit going into the front housing and since I was doing it alone, I managed to ding up the copper line a little when it went in. It leaked pretty badly, but did lock up. Since it was the weekend before EC4RJ when I did the install last year, I went with it and figured I'd fix it later. Well, later I pulled the diff and thought I had the line repaired, managed to get the diff back in the housing, had it all bolted up, tested it, no leaks. Done, right? Wrong.

So as I was driving the 4Runner around in a gravel lot in 4wd trying to figure out the noise that ended up being the front shaft on the exhaust, I figured I'd hit the front locker just to check on it. Compressor came on....kept pumping.....and pumping.....not shutting off.....crap. Got out of the truck, pulled the front diff drain plug and it's pretty obvious that the leak is in the diff. A few choice words yelled at the diff later, I came to the realization that I'm going to have to pull the freakin' thing again.

So, anybody want to come by to help me pull the birfs and front diff this weekend, let's say Saturday, May 23rd? I realize this is Memorial Day weekend, and I know it's short notice, but I'd appreciate any help I can get. I'd do it the following weekend, but I already have plans that weekend that I can't break and I leave for EC4RJ that following Thursday. We can break for lunch and toss some burgers on the grill and the garage fridge is pretty well stocked with frosty beverages.
