today, sunday, i wanted to prepp everything for the front end so when i get the housing back from my buddy rodney, i'll be ready to go on with the assmebly of the "outers". rodney is setting up the 4:56 gears and power lock limited slip for me over the weekend. since i've only done a handful of differential gear setups and he has done literally hundrets, i figured i'd call in a favor and have him do it for me.
i finally got to use the bead blaster and it works awesome. problem is, the air compressor has a reallly hard time keeping up. i'll just live with it since i don't do that much beadblasting. a new compressor would take away some of the "pocket money' i have set aside for this project so it's gonna have to wait.
i got all the parts cleaned up, bearings and races knocked put, grease wiped out, threads chased, blasted and painted. i also wire wheeled the wheel studs and cleaned up the threads on them. last thing i want is to run into a bad thread or other preventable trouble during assembly.
that took pretty much all day, including cleaning up the mess i made.
