I, too, am very interested in this mod. I recently had the 1fz in my '95 rebuilt due to two bad rod bearings......I absolutely HATED to do it, because the 1fz is so underpowered. These vehicles SCREAM for a V8; however, I couldn't find a good, concise write up on how to swap (and what to swap) into an 80. I couldn't even find a good write up on an SBC swap......well, not one that didn't leave a lot to the imagination.
Please provide as much detail as you can, and if your test mule works out well (and if you're so inclined), you will probably have a pretty good market if you decide to offer a 2UZ swap "kit"......anyone else on board for something like that?
To me, an 80 with a V8 would be the perfect off-road vehicle.......just my opinion
