Original Locker?

Saw a picture in a thread over here in germany and it shows a FJ/BJ 40 differential.



is that a original LSD anti friction or aftermarket accessorie?

Dass ist eine Amerikanische Scheusel.

That is a "Gov-Loc". It is a GM product that is a hybrid LSD and locker. It is as complicated as a Swiss watch and is not known for longevity. The one in my Suburban grenaded backing out of my drive way. The case cracked scattering pieces all over. They can be adapted to work in Toyota LC differentials with some minor machining.

That was a quick reply!
I recommended the fellow to get rid of that strange aparatus and get a open differential or another kind of locker. Parts availability over here will be slim or none....
