tundra booster question

does anyone know if this booster off of a Toy Tundra would work for this application? I don't know anything about the dimensions or whether it requires some sort of electrical computer hook up. Anyone know?

Finally....

Got to put some paint down.

Put a coat of Corlar on. This is still a primer. Gonna let it cure then sand this real smooth. Then topcoat with Imron Maybe one day I'll be able to mount this tub to the frame

Seriously, I can't believe how good that looks man. I'm incredible jelious, the time, the money, effort, and patience. Wish I had them all. Good work, nice looking rig, can't wait to see it all mounted and finished.

Well I know I havn't update this thing in a while so here's where I am at right now..
On the tub:
I have of course got the powdercoat primer, then I have put one coat of DuPont Corlar over the powdercoat (which has adhered greatly) and then sanding that coat soomth. Then last weeked I put another coat of Corlar down and once I get all the orange peel out of that coat I am going with two coats of Imron. Then bedliner the bottom and inside. then i'll be done with the tub

Other pieces:
Most have one coat of Corlar on them. Some stuff still needs a little bodywork.....

when I walked into the shop last weekend I saw some little rust spots on some of the seams. So I got kinda pissed and painted all the seams with POR15. Yes all of them.

I have also coated the insides of the rear tailgates with POR 15, by simply doing what I did with the doors. Poor it in there and rotate the piece around.. I don't think these things will be rusting in the inside any time soon. BTW I cut some drain holes in the bottom of the tailgates to let any moisture and such get out..

I also did the same things with the por15 in the running boards. Did it down inside of those ribs..
This pic is before the por15 process so it isn't quite as clean anymore
In the pic is also the vent flap that I gone ahead and put a coat of Corlar on..

Now to the tub..

The second coat of Corlar has dried and now I am in the process of sanding all the orange peal out (note Corlar is not made to sand easy )

I am done with this side, no orange peel at all. Just awaiting Imron then I won't ever have to sand on it again

Here is a cool little thing I came across. Since I don't have the stock drivetain I don't have any of the linkage to shift the t-case with. Well a friend of mine bought a hug lot of stuff off military vehicles or something and he hooked me up with this cable. It has enough pitch, long enough, and it seems bomb proof. Just got to make a couple little brackets and I'll be able to shift into 4x4 now..

Question

Just finished reading this thread. Excellent work my man!

Have a question about some 'holes' in your tub. In the pic below I circled a couple of holes. What are they for? They are on both wheel well tops of your tub. I'm about to finish installing new wheel well tops in my 1971 and if those holes serve some good purpose I will add them to mine.

Keep up the good work!

I'm not 100% sure because I don't recall there being anything fastened to them when I bought the cruiser, but I think they had something to do with some seat belts that were in there a while back..

IIRC the top holes have nuts welded to the other side. And the bottom holes have nothing.

Damn my64fj40,
That is lookin good. I just hope Ginny turns out near as nice. I finally got around to starting taking her down, Finally pulled the hood, roof, sides, doors, bi fold, rear doors, and winshield off this weekend. It appears she is in about the same shape as yours to a degree before you started. I do have to cut out her rear sill area and replace with good steel, fill some extra holes some of the POs drilled in her. It seems her under seat tool box is in the same kinda shape as yours. Solid as the day she rolled off the assembly line.
Once you get around to the bi fold and weather stripping, please keep me in mind since I have the same thing to do. If I come up with anything that works, I will let you know.
Keep er rollin.

A few updates

My fiberglass top has been sitting over at the guy's shop that built a boat for me. He removed all the rusted rain gutter and built a new one out of fiberglass, he also patched a hole in the top where a cb antenna was mounted, patched another area that had gotten messed up pretty good, and also put a new layer of cloth fiberglass down on the inside which streghened the top up a whole bunch. This old fella is a pure perfectionist in his work.

Here is what the outside of what the gutter looks like, it doesn't come out with a lip like the metal stuff, but is incredibly stronger. I don't think the lip is necessary anyway.

Here is what the underside of the gutter looks like, really stronger than before, and is outlined just like it was before.

And here is a couple pics of the area he patched where the cb mount was and the other problem area.

At least it can't RUST anymore!!

I actually got some work done today.

I finally put the final coat of Imron on the body today, and it turned out slick It is really nice, I was pleased with the outcome.

But will I getting it ready to paint I was going through some buckets of misc. part that came with the cruiser and saw this piece of metal that looked familar, and turns out it was part of the floorboard Stupid P.O. Kinda mad at myself for not noticing it before also. So I went ahead and cleaned that up and welded it in. It turned pretty good, now that there is some paint on, it blends in pretty good. Should be just about impossible to notice once bedliner it put on.

Ohh and sorry guys, the camera died so I won't have any pics of the freshly painted tub until tomorrow.

But after talking to the paint guy, I showed him a piece of my powdercoat stuff and he used some special laser gun or something and matched the color for the Imron.

It is called Toyota Super White, how appropiate
