I dunno what planet okie is on those OEM seats are not that comfortable. They are just bouncy springs with no support or countours. Anyway, mine i'll stay stock
The seat frames and backs are that greyish pewter. I'd have to look close in the day light to see how much difference there is.

It is actually really easy..
.Take cruiser completely apart
.Buy all my stuff from www.por15.com
.Get some paintbrushes and pump sprayer from hardware store
.Get chassis somewhere that a waterhose will reach and you could have it preped and coated with por15 in a day
.Then next day finish it up with chassis coat
Thanks for the compliments

O.K. finally found a place here in Corpus that would sell DuPont paint products to me..
After talking to the old feller paint expert he told me this is what I need to do..
Put a couple coats of
Corlar 2.8 HG-D which is supposed to be highbuild
If it doesn't smooth out quite the way I want it too then I already have some other highbuild primer to go on after that
Then go with 2 or 3 coats of Imron 5000 Low VOC 3.5 HN
This Imron should be bullet proof

I prefer the stock, early seats, front and rear. You can cart around more passengers than with buckets and the later model rear seats. It's no problem, for example, taking six teenagers hiking or to the movies.

Wow! Amazing job...
you have going there. I am over in Rockport and would love to stop by and see your work first-hand. I recently acquired a '65 FJ40 that I hope to restore.
Sure could use some advice.

I mounted my battery about 3/4" above my shock tower. It bolts to the frame on both sides of the shock tower, where my frame alrady was treaded. I think I would have room for two batterys there.
ug, um, yeah, wiring, on my list this weekend.

If you're going to spray Imron...be ABSOLUTELY SURE that you wear a good respirator. That sh*t is very dangerous! Slightly less hazardous to your central nervous system is Deltron and for the money, I think that it's almost as durable as Imron. Just my .02.

It was too aged anyway

Still geting this thing ready for paint..
Mocked up the tailgates, latches, sparetire carrier hinges, and latch for the carrier. Had to drill new holes for just about everything since the new panels and channel don't come predilled..
For my new c-channel where the part that the spare tire carrier latches too apparently had a backing plate on it as well. I thought I was never going to get thrugh those 3 layers of steel
Forgot to get a pic of the carrier while I was there, just the tailgates..
Next time I get to the shop and actually remember my camera I'll shot a pic of it mounted.

Ohh. Forgot to ask.
Now that I have the manifolds and Iam getting ready to mount them, should I use those 3 piece gaskets or a full 1 piece gasket. Does it matter

The adapter came in from MAF..
Bolted right up to the booster and firewall like a charm..
Also it looks like it came powdercoated, little perk I didn't know about. MAF's pic shows it zinc. If anybody wants to do power brakes I think MAF's GM kit is probably the way to go.
