Do you think you could give a general price run down as things get ticked off from your "to do" list? Give us all an idea of what sort of budget is required to take on different bits. Thanks
Do you have a final goal with this truck? Or is it just going to evolve?

My main goal is to have a moderate offroader and a nice cruising around town vehicle..
Probably going to do some trail rides and such with her at least until I decide to put an Orion in and upgrade the front axle..
As for how much everything cost I'am too afraid to add it all up

i have found that it does get a bit hotter going slower. also, you dont want to do this for winter running, but the best texas summer mix is 10% antifreeze-90& water. also you can run water wetter additive to lower the temp even more.
as far as timing, initial on a small block (no vac) is about 10-12 degrees. total about 36. believe my 350 is set at 12--no problem starting, ping, etc. good luck. by the way just picked a 93 caprice today mainly for the accessory drive system. where are you going to put your battery?

Cool, going to go with a shroud for sure..
Still scared to go with a electric fan, today when I come to a traffic light in my dodge my A/C goes out,, turns out the electric fan for the condensor coil was bad
My SBC has vaccum advance, but she starts good so if Iam off probably not by much
As for the battery I wish I did know where to mount it, the PO had it in the cab ..
Most of my engine compartment space is on the passenger side so I think it should be able to mount somewhere over there
With a winch, some lights and the rest of the cruisers electrical I think I may need to run dual batteries????
Which is twice as scary

Cool
What's your cruiser color
I have only seen a couple around town, a red w/ some lights on the windshiled frame and the one that sits on Ocean Dr.

I moved here a year ago and haven't driven my 40 very much. Mine is red and we also have a '99 100 with a TJM bumper on the front. I live on the south side off of Rodd Field.

I have been slowly getting little parts and such back from powdercoat and now that I have got them all back I decided to organize today..
So I went ahead and shot some pics will I was doing it..
The 3 colors that they used overall were: A silver/chrome color, White, and Black..
In these pics I have the gauge cluster put back together with the newly coated panel..
The side mirror assemblies w/ stainless hardware..
And the wind vent inside flap and the piece of metal with it that has all the studs..

In this pic we have:
2 Outside handles for bi-fold
Steering column shield
Hinges for spare tire carrier
Door stops
Little hooks for Bi-fold
3 hinges for bi-fold
Brackets for outside handles on bifold
Top pieces for sun visor hardware
Rollers for bi-fold
Side vent flaps w/ hinges
I guess some people have no common logic, they powdercoated the shafts for the spare tire hinges and the little shafts on the rollers on the bi-fold. But with a little work it can be sanded down to work...

Running board brackets
And the spare tire carrier
(there was some miscommunication because it was supposed to get just a powdercoat primer but it got the topcoat also, I don't mind)
The carrier also got launched off of a fork lift and the only place that got even a little damaged was an area where the bottom right hinge mounts.. Damn powdercoat is tuff

And with my power steering I did a mini-truck conversion..
My gearbox I got off ebay was supposed to be one that works with this conversion and it looks just like everybody elses that has done it. Yet no one has a return line nipple that works. For some reason the one that JT sells and another one from Toyota both had threaded parts that were to large for my gearbox
So I was able to find out what thread size I had by using some fittings that friend has and with that I went the only local hose company that has metric fittings and they were able to put this together for me..
It works really well and it looks industrial..

And here is a pic of my Warn 8274 winch that I got off ebay also..
Sanded body filler seems to be on everything
Until today I finally finished all my bodywork I switched spots with the chassis and tub and used my shop vac and clean up the shop for the most part..
This week I hope to get some big tarps and set up a little paint booth and start doing some painting. I still got to put a self etching primer over the powdercoat primer then a highbuild primer to take away all that orange peel and then a couple coats of Imron
I'll keep yall posted

actually in my opinion, the springs in the stock seats provide quite the cushion when hitting bumps in the road. some of the most comfortable seats you can have on the 40s

All looking very good. Must be nice to have all those clean and "brand new" parts to bolt on one by one......ahhh, one day, lol.
Better get that thing back together and on (and off!) road before those spiders take over and walk it out of the garage!!! (pic#112)
Where did you get those aluminium hood hinges from? What is JT? Please don't hold it against me if I'm being dumb!
Keep up the fine work
