After the two axles I took the tranny (TH350) to be rebuilt. As I came to find out I didn't have some of the special tools needed.
I used a Raptor rebuilt kit, so I guess it can be considered a Raptor Transmission.
This is a pic of the T-case and tranny installed along with the axles, suspension, and driveshafts, steering, and Mini - truck powersteering.

Do you have your own parts washer to wash all your T-Case parts and what not for your axle? And yes why didn't you go with a newer style front end?

I was thinking along similar lines:
406SBC in the same vehicle as 4 wheel, non power, single circuit drum brakes?
But otherwise, its looking like a nice truck.

I'm really not to worried about the brakes. I know that I will have to push hard to stop, but it's a Landcruiser not a Camry.
I also know that the front axle is weak, especially with the 406. I left it open diff in hopes to keep it together. When I was done rebuilding the front that is when I discovered that it is not that strong. So for now I'am going to go by the saying "Don't fix it if it ain't broken."

I used alot of solvent, a wire brush, a file, and a bunch of time.
It was so dirty when I dropped it from the chassis I couldn't tell it was aluminum, except for it being susprising light.
I'll try to get a few more pics tonight.

Was the POR 15 Grey and Black Chassis Coat paint on, roll on or spray on? Soon as I get moved I am taking the old 62' down to the frame!

It might be something to consider to go with at least front wheel disc brakes, seeing as you are running 35" tires. At least do it for safety reasons. Looks like you are doing a nice job on your build up, cant wait to see it done.

I bought it and the can said it can be applied either way. I ended up rolling/brushing it on. It goes on so soomth that it looks like it was sprayed on..
Good luck with your cruiser, does your's have the old school hard top with it. Personally I think the old top look the best.

I have decided to go disc brakes on the front with later model front axle, and hopefully longfields and a locker, eventually. It's probably the smart thing to do. But as of now I just want to get her started.
Thanks for the advice yall

Then put the intake on.
I didn't like the way the Edelbrock intake was lookin with bare aluminum so I decided to give to a couple coats of high temp paint and a clear coat.
Then I went ahead and put my TQC in the tranny.
And dropped the engine in with it,,,

Put some new U-joints in the driveshafts, ended up making the rear one a little longer. And also put an AA kit on the front so I would have to modify the tranny drain pan, along with new ujoints...

And here is a my sexy tranny pan that I couldn't bring my self to put huge dent in. Thus is the reasoning for the AA kit that set me back a couple hundred..

Here is some pics of the body work I did...
I replaced:
1. Metal under the doors on both sides.
2. The rear sil including a new c - channel
3. The rounded c-clips on the rear of the cruiser.
4. A few little spots that I welded up.

Then I through everytthing on my flat bed and took it to sandblast and prime.
The place the did this for me was a powdercoat business and luckly they have a oven that the tub would fit in to. SO............

And while that was being done I took a vacation up the Dallas..
Where I stopped by Cool Cruisers and picked up a bumper...
I wanted to mount it with 1/2 grade 8 bolts so I had to drill out the chassis and bumper plates a little bit...

Here's a closer pic of some of the body work...
I'll still have to use a little layer body filler to make it look perfect though...

The cool thing about this epoxy powdercoat primer is that since it is applied in a powder form that electrical charge can suck that powder up into every little crevice and such...
Can't wait to get the rest of the cruiser back

Anyone know where I can find a Good well known distributor for a decent price for my 400 SBC. The engine builder told me it needs to have a vaccum advance.
Went by some local shops looking for one, couldn't find any, but ended up buying these to replace the stock reflectors..
