I hope I'm not too late. Here's mine.

The only VIN I could find is on the driver's door jam. It is:

July 1975

FJ40205655

I could only find a stamp on the block on the passenger side. It is:

P 247172

I can't find any other VIN plates. The cruiser is titled as a 1975 FJ40.

I'm curious about the engine stamp number. It doesn't look like any others posted here. Can anyone help identify this number?
I don't see a number on the driver's side of the block, but I haven't tried to scrape off the gunk.

Okay, I found a number on the driver's side of the block. It is:

70920 and there is a 42 underneath that number. On the passenger side of the block it has: P 247172

The door plate vin is FJ40205655
July 1975 FJ 40

This is an update of an earlier post.

These numbers still don't look right to me. Any help?

VIN FJ40211848
Engine 2F054182
Truck Manufactured 10/75
Engine between 4/75 and 11/75

Pretty sure original motor, the manufacture years on both kinda bear that out, my best guess.

better late than never...part 2

block # 61013

engine# 2F 353594

frame # fj40 228296

VIN date 7/76

Number on the drivers side of the engine is 90228, with a 1 below that and a C below that.

Looking at SOR's engine #'s, this appears to be a later engine? Chart only goes up to 78... but is it a 79 or 80?

Thanx, Marco

Your engine is from sometime between 4/1975 and 7/1975.

Well that will help when getting parts and such for the motor. Especially since I have to get the crank turned amongst other things.
