This is a great thread. It's definatley something to add to the tech FAQ. Perhaps add full explanation and a plus/minus list of the choices when replacing fasteners:

JIS sizing vs. +1 "normal"
Stainless vs. zinc vs. yellow zinc
Hex head vs. allen/socket head

(what other am I missing?)

It seeems to me that stainless +1 "normal" hex head is the easiest way to go. And JIS yellow zinc hex head are the original way.

Someone post or PM me a link. I can host it and/or look into some other solution - put it into a google spreadsheet or some other dynamic web site that allowed sort, filter, etc.

"quote" Motor Mounts to Block Bolts from coolerman Post #105

12 12mm x 1.75 x 32mm. Split Washer. 17 mm head. 19mm will NOT fit!
bolts heads stamped with a 5.

in an earlier post it states motor mount (cast piece to block) 12mmx1.25x25

Does anyone know which is correct.

I've got almost all of this done in excel myself from info posted up here. When I get it finished, tonight of tommorrow, I'll post it up.

Might not be as nice as the one that got started earlier, but I'm no computer whiz.

Thanks for all the effort you guys have put into this

I'm at work and not near my rig, so does anyone know the sizes of the bolts that are along the frame that holds the fuel and brake lines against the frame?

Also for the Bezel, nuts to secure the radiator mesh to the bib, the bolts that hold the heater fan, the rear heater, the seatbelt mounting bolts, instrument cluster screws, ashtray screws, fuel filler neck bolts, fuel tank strap bolts, rear heater bolts, pintle hitch bolts, knuckle wiper cover bolts

also it said engine splash guard to frame m10x1x16 qty 2 with captured split and flat.

This doesn't sound right, can anyone check please

I have the excel done now and you can filter by description, bolt size, pitch and length.

Whats the specs on driveshaft bolts. I know post 1 or so said to use OEM, which is fine. But I need the specs so I can find some at the local yard. I read Toyota used the same driveshaft bolts up to 1990 on all thier 4x4's.

Edit: I found the bolt specs. 10mm x 30mm x1.25 with a 10mm shoulder. These should be 10.9 grade and balanced. w/lock and flat.

Danke -

Anyone source their nuts & bolts from the vendors listed on this worksheet (e.g., boltdepot)?

Otherwise, I may resort to one of the local Cleveland fastner companies -

Neither is correct. I just corrected this in my old post and do apoligize for the error. I was cussing myself last weekend when I tried to thread 12mm bolts into a 10 mm hole. Here is the corrected data again.

Front motor mount to block bolts

6 10mm x 1.25 x 30mm Split + Flat washers. 10mm shoulder. 14mm head.

Rear Motor Mount to Tranny Bell Housing

6 12mm x 1.75 x 30mm. Split Only. No Shoulder. 17mm Head.

Definitely not a "US Marine" friendly site ... I'll wait until some smart guy figures it out and shares the secrets.

WaAkFJ clean out your mail box! Then send me a copy of your spreadsheet coolerman@qx.net

Bad Coco can you send me your version of the spreadsheet?

I'll see about finding out some of the bolt sizes you requested earlier.
