PPG is one of the big automotive paint manufacturers. Their code for #653 Olive Green is 45228.
FYI, you can go to CarpaintOnline - Search By OEM, enter your factory color code and it will give you the corresponding PPG Code.

Here's a FJ45 in the as-yet unidentified Green (I'm still thinking Fashion or Breath Green). I emailed the owner and he didn't know the paint code, although he did say that it was a factory color.

Nebula is PPG#44678.
You can look up any factory paint code here:

Toyota 0416 Dune Biege?
This is listed on Ebay right now. I dig the color. Seller says it's Toyota 0416 Dune Biege and it was only on non-USA rigs. Doesn't look like any other dune beige I've seen but I like it. Can anyone confirm if this is a stock color?

I came across a color card that showed 6h9 "grayish olive," the color Eshu Elegua identified as our "mystery green." It appears to be close to "Fashion Green" used by Toyota in 1970/71, but with more of an olive tint.

I saw that this morning and thought the same thing, but if you look at some of his other pics you'll see that the light is playing with the colors a little. At least some of the other pics look like 416 DB to me.

So I tried to match up the silver trim to my 1969 LC. I want to use an auto paint so it will be durable and hold up better than some other paints. After doing all the work to come up with a very clean original paint sample (removed plate covering glove box) we decided a dupi-color Import Auto Spray pain "seattle silver" code "8800957" matched as well as anything. What have other done? I have read about "ash grey metallic" as one option.

T12 White (1976).
First two pictures are in the sun. Note the difference between the soft door and body color. Even the door is not a true white.
Third one in the shade (garage) under flouresent light.

belaw colour code
belaw,
That colour code (post # 214) is probably 6L4, or PPG colour code 47627. I am pretty sure it is the same colour as my 84 FJ40 LX- I love it.
Cheers,
Josh

color question
Where can you check for the color of the vehicle.
The #'s on the firewall are; engine# F-190861 and Frame #4FJ40022298
it is a 1965 factory soft top # FJ40L
Looks like T-333 Tropical Coral, or maybe T-1297 Solar Red?
But is there a way to know for sure?
The color is pretty faded now.
possibly Seminole Red--T332?

No, not anymore. I did at one time on a factory paint 031 color fj40 and the top cap looked the same color as the 031 body color to me. If its not the same, its very close.
Not sure if that was what you were looking for...

I don't have a PPG paint code but I did see a reference for Shell Ivory as A-T0195. Not sure if that is of any help.

I'm taking some FJ60 wheels intended for my 40 and my bezel to the powder coater on Monday and was wondering if anyone has a powder brand and color to match Cygnus White T12 or PPG 0833. I've tried to confirm that the later D style wheels and bezel are Cygnus without any success so I'm assuming that must be the correct color.

A fellow Mudder (Propilot) agreed to share some Toyota green sprayouts with me, and I thought I would return the favor by posting them in the "official" color code thread. These pictures were taken in full sunlight and are slightly washed out; in reality they are just a touch darker (at least darker than they show up on my monitor). But since dark colors always seem lighter when sprayed over a large area, this is probably a good indication of what a vehicle painted in these colors would look like.
Left to right they are:
Greyish Olive (6H9)
Fashion Green (T303)
Breath Green (T1654)
FWIW, Fashion and Breath Green seem to be different shades of the same basic color (hue?). If you had two vehicles painted in these colors I bet they would be hard to tell apart unless parked next to each other. Rustic Green, Fashion Green and 6H9 seem to be about the same shade, but with pregressively stronger olive tints. Breath Green is alot closer to Nebula Green that I thought it would be.

Hard to tell exactly...lets face it, the picture probably lost a lot of its original hue over the years, then again when scanned
I am not sure, as I thought Capri Blue started in '68 (I also thought it was Capri Blue T310-2 (PPG 12168)) but then again I also thought that might have been Horizon Blue T1208 (PPG 13211), as Horizon Blue was said to have started in '65.
Which ever it might be, this will be the only change from original stock we will be doing with our restoration. We will be painting ours Horizon Blue, as my daughter is not too fond of the offwhite bandaid color on it now...it's all good
Below should be a Horizon Blue I found on mud somwhere.
