ROTW: 1976 FJ55 FJBen
1976 FJ55 "Pig"
I got "Pig" almost 2 years ago from Ken in Idaho, (who has the kick ass troopie) and he got it from Dan Kunz in Georgia who got if from someone in Montanna. It was originally a 76 FJ55 blue & white, then painted all metallic blue, then rattle-can white, then rattle-can two tone by me. "0 to 60 in five miles" sticker.
78 2F
Marks Off-road Carb
4" Alcan Lift, 200lbs over stock weight up front, 300lbs over stock weight rear
Longer shackles
35" BFG M/T's KM's
15 X 8 Eagle 589 Aluminum Wheels
Warn 5687 currnetly no cable, the old one turned into spaghetti
Custom Bumpers front and rear
Sliders attached to frame, made out of 2X2" tube
Snorkle, "The Home Depot" special
ARB Compressor
Front and Rear ARB's
4 Wheel Disc Brakes on 1978 Axles
Greasable Pins
Optima Red Top battery
Painless waterproof 7 fuse addition
6" KC HighLighters
Doestch Tech Shocks DT8000 rear shock, DT3000 fronts
Hi-Lift Jack
Autometer Tach
Aqualu Double Arm
Old Man Emu stabilizer
Stainless Brake Lines
D shackle tow points
6 to 1 header
FUTURE MODS: new tranny, got a line on an H55F/split at the moment...if that falls through most likey H41/Orion combo.
Needs powersteering but then my wife will drive it too much. hmmm...
Needs a new compressor for the factory A/C. Will retrofit a whole R-134a unit in.
SOA, already gathering parts for the SOA...then move to 4 Link rear.

Yes, the wife drove Pig one day, was warming it up in the garage, garage door open...(pre marks carb) said it stunk up the garage...hopped in real quick to back it out...left door open...
smash...my kegerator won that battle, caught the edge of the door and folded it back...

Man that is fawking bad a$$. Damn, it's just a damn good lookin rig. WOW
Ya the 55 is a cool cruiser. That's what kicks ass about Cruisers, you got so many model options. The first 55 I ever saw was before I owned a Cruiser but was interested. Saw the emblem and had to go back and check it out. I was like WTF is this thing it's a beast, kind of ugly too. Wow did it ever grow on me. They kick ass.
I'll definitely have one someday. Nice job man

Thanks all for your comments. Nope, no tranny fix yet. I have a line on an H55F/split case local to me...so I'm going to see how that pans out. I'm hoping it will be a good deal, if it is, I'm all over that lol.
A good friend about 1.5 hours away owns a body shop, so some time I'm going to go take a week and fix all the body... sometime...
I'm trying to turn this more into an expedition/moderate trail rig at this point. A lot of trails require more than an hour just to get to them, so I'd like SOME comfort. sheesh I sound like a I do own an 80 series...maybe it's rubbing off on me

no pics needed now, that explains it perfectly.
i'm gonna try to re-do my rear bumper and cut my 1/4's down.
found me a sweet ladder at the steel yard today(so i can get stuff on my roof rack easier)
maybe get a camping/wheelin trip in a month or two, somewhere in between here and there

How's life out east now??? i saw you thinned the herd...the pig is still a blast and just keeps getting better and better...someday my wife might actually like it and take it more....thats why I'm holding out on Power steering...
JOSIE: I believe DocB makes those stickers...on this board...you can do a search in the vendor section.
2Badfj's: nice, you coming to the meet and great @ Slee???
Thanks to all for viewing the beast and the comments.
