So I was ripping plants out of the ground...

(Juniper bushes) with my FJ40 and everything was going well until I got to the last bush. It takes a few launches to get the bush out and it finally gives. I'm thinking, cool, nothing broke so I saved some money taking these darn bushes out my self.

So I go to make a hard turn into my garage and the rear axles are acting like they are welded together (binding) until it the rear end makes a big BANG!!! noise. I'm thinking, oh $hit! I just had a cone style LSD put in and I busted it. Even after the bang it still binds when turning and makes the BANG noises. Just to check the axles I dropped the clutch and everything "seemed" to hold together.

So what do you think I broke?

Scott

I had a similar problem happen in my 40 a few years ago.

It was before I knew anything so I towed it down to our family mechanic and he just said he "tightened things up a bit."

I suggest you order a diff inspection cover gasket (in case the old one falls apart) and have a look for yourself.
