| Replacement Seatbelts I ordered a set of CCOT's replacement seatbelts a few weeks back to replace my original worn out belts. The belt portion was almost identical aside from being black instead of gray but the buckle part that mounts to the floor was completely different. It was housed in a flat plastic sleeve and was at least 4 inches longer than the original, meaning that it stuck up way too high. I called CCOT and they said I could "cut it." So here's my question, why would they design belts specifically for the 40 and then suggest you cut them to make them fit? Actually that isn't my question, who cares why they did it. My real question is, does anyone know where you can find a nice set of replacement belts that actually fit properly?
Thanks! |

| In short no. I have been doing the same thing and just sent my CCOT's back. You really have to be careful buying any of the after market stuff. Much, including those seat belts, are a generic answer for many different cars/trucks.
I looked into getting my old ones restored but haven't had any luck yet. There's an outfit called ssnake-oyl.com that looks to do a real nice job but..... They can't do mine because they are unable to get the belt retractor apart to replace the webbing.
I've decided to order an old belt retractor from SOR and be happy with the faded look. " the patina of a bygone era "
I hope someone else has better news for you. Good luck

Now that is funny. Everything I have ever bought from them has been a compromise. All from "Nation's Oldest and Foremost Restorer of Land Cruisers
and Restoration Parts Developer".

| Not sure what year you have but there's a set from a 1980 on E-Bay. Current bid is 22 bucks but there's another day left so who knows.

| I bought mine from seatbelts.com
measured what I needed, decided on the buckle style and belt color, and got the floor extender and have been happy ever since
there is even a normal English speaking person who answers their phone and helps with the order
