Real time help: High beam switching

Hi all,

I'm installing a set of driving lights in the FJ45 and am following the directions for the wiring loom (an IPF loom for their spot lights).

In order to connect into the standard high beam wiring, I need to know if the truck has positive (+) or negative (-) high beam switching (according to the instructions).

Is there a way to tell? Or maybe you can tell me?

Cheers,
Henry.

The later cruisers are negative switched (60 series) I would assume the earlier are as well. Pull one headlight, turn on the lights and check to see if the common lead has ground (positive switched) or power (negative switched), switch between high and low beam if you need to for determining which is the common lead.

All US FJ40's are positive switched according to all the schematics I have. I would have to assume your FJ45 is positive switched also.

Thanks guys.
For future info the lights were positive switched and the install was easy, though still time consuming to do a neat job.
