Mistery tank in rear found...
Newbie here. A tank was found while installing new CCOT quarter panels in the rear passenger corner, it is somewhat upside down triangular shaped with round corners. Two lines connect to it and they run inside the cabin, on the wall of the quarter panel channel part to two holes atop the upper wheel well cover. Is this a secondary tank? Vapor/Fuel separator tank?
Its a 1970 (June) FJ40. I want to install a roll cage. Guess I can't since the support brackets can't be installed in this corner. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It's a fuel vapor separator.
Don't break it. The inside of the cab will smell like gas. Spector wants about $35 for a used one.

Search the SOR catalog for "Fuel Separator", or check here....

Yep emissions control. If you can, would you mind shooting a pic of this and how it's mounted? My 71 is supposed to have this and I'm considering adding it. It's one of the few things I don't have a pic of on my Cruiser. Pics of the hoses and stuff would also be great. You can email them or post them.... Thanks!

I went through this and decided it was cheaper to make one out of Aluminum.
