What kind of hard top is this?
Saw this on ebay this morning and watched it sell to the one bidder for $99.00. The seller said is was for an FJ40 but unless it was some real old FJ25 top I just can't quite make sense of it. Is it a Heep top? The seller said local pick up only but didn't have his location listed and didn't answer my question as to where he was at. So I watched it sell, but wondering if I saw some rare priceless piece go for less than $100...grrr.

Looks like a cobbled up POS.
One hing in the middle of the rear door?

Is that one hinge, or is it on a slide bar where the door open by the top of it sliding in like a garage door. There is a bar right at the hinge, and the bottom looks like it is in a track to slide up.

Hey, you may be on to something but still begs the question...what the hell does it come off of...a jeep, a early bronco, a Scout...not anything FJ I have ever seen...

It has to be for an old jeep. It is to short for a bronco or scout. There were so many aftermarket hardtop, and dealer options (not factory) it would be hard to verify, but it is so short from the door opening to the back an old jeep is about the only option.

I'll bet dollars to donuts it's for one of these "DELTA" mini-clones of the FJ40.
Or maybe not. The height of the "DELTA" may be higher than the top.

It looks like an OEM hardtop for a 55 CJ-5. The side panels are inset a little bit for the doors to slid back into. In looking at some old Jeep photos I have seen, I am pretty sure it is an old CJ-5 Top. Contrary to the line of thought being it is pos, if it is an OEM hard top for a 50s era CJ-5, it is actuallly worth a little bit of money. It would be worth more if the doors were still with it.

I think it is for the mini FJ40 as well, I forget what they were called?

Well, Johnny C ...You pretty much stopped the debate with that proof o' the pudding...Thanks. And my brother has a 47' WILLY"S and he could have used it since he only has a bikini for it, but I wasn't sure what exactly it went to.

That top is too cool!
I really like the vintage hardtops for the different kind of rigs...Jeeps/Willys and FJs alike.
They say the old steel HTs rusted out faster than the Jeep tubs, therefore making them harder to find.
I just picked up a rare Acme fiberglass top and doors for my '77 CJ5 that I am in the middle of restoring to match the Jeep.
That old delivery top would look awesome on a restored/mildly lifted Heep!!

Is there any more info on those "Delta" trucks? They're kinda like a train wreck, my inner cruiserhead doesn't want to stare, but I just can't look away.
