Another T-Case problem

Ok, I went out to do a little four wheeling in my 75 fj, got out and locked the hubs, shifted to 4h and my t-case wouldn't go into 4-L. After making a short loop I got back to the main road unlocked the hubs and it wouldn't shift to 2wd. Not wanting to make the 30 min. trip back home in 4wd I crawled under and "manually" forced it back into 2wd. Linkage? gears? I don't know much about tranny's or transfer cases so any help would be great. Thanks

Hi All:

Regarding the 4-high to 4-low problem, make sure the shifting linkage is tight and in good shape.

Regarding the 4-high to 2-high issue, I have have found it sometimes necessary to drive the rig in reverse a short distance (5 yards or so) to relieve drive train bind before the t-case will allow shifting from 4-high to 2-high.

Regards,

Alan
