FJ40 Rocker Arm Oiling Problem?

Hi Guys and Gals. I have a 1977 FJ40 and before I tear it apart, I wanted to ask a question. How much oil should be getting to the top end (Rocker Arms). I know in some vehicles, if you take off the oil filler cap with it running, you have a mess. Not so on my 2F motor or on my friends F motor. I am not saying it is dry in there, but there is not oil flying around with it running? Am I getting enough oil. The head was sent out in 97' to be hot tanked, new valeve seals and so on. I ran it for about 7000 miles before I put it in storage until a few weeks ago. It runs fine and the oil pressure is great. I use only toyota oil filters on it. There is not excessive valve noise. I might just be paranoid. Any advise?

It is not supposed to be that way on the F/2F

If you are getting oil dribbling out of the rocker arms, you are fine.

Thanks. If that is the case, I think I am fine.

Friend had head done and the new head gasket did not have hole for oil passage to the rocker arms ... It fried the top end .
Don't know why gasket would not have had one

Probably put the head gasket on backwards.

Unless it's an early '73 and they just didn't hook up the oil pipe.

I just had the valve cover off yesterday on my 78 2F and the oil just kind of seeps out of the rocker arm holes. No splashing at all.

It was long time ago but the gasket on backwards does ring a bell . Everthing lines up except the oil galley . Not 100% sure on the year
