Blower for carb

I purchased my 79 FJ40 with a weber carb setup. It has the carb blower that does not come on when the engine is running. However during the hot summer time the blower motor will try to start up while the vehicle is parked in the garage. Currently it is at the point where it does not fully start up. Any advice? Replace it or what? I'm sure in Texas it would be nice. Also does anyone use the weber carb constant pressure device?

Thanks, new & defintely over my head.

Unplug the blower. It is useless to the weber and it will run down your battery, or cause a fire. I have not heard of a constant pressure device. Please give us more info. Thanks

I have a few friends who run Weber 38s and the only way they could get them to run correctly was to install a fuel pressure regulator. None of them are running the Weber branded one. IIRC you want to keep it below 5psi but I am sure someone running one will post up.

I've been running a cheap dial type pressure regulator for 10 years with a 38 Weber with no problems. I think it's a purolator brand and it's turned way down.

Later,
