Than the sheet metal that welds to the bed and the support. Just looking at CCOT they come either the sill plate or the combo. 10-73 production. Body Parts . Coatings

| Thanks for the help. I have a friend who fabricates wine tanks. I think I will go into the rear sill business with him. It is such an easy thing to fabricate. I will let everyone know next week after we meet. He is an excellant welder/fabicator for wine tanks, this should be easy. Maybe, make it out of stainless steel.

I was going to go that route - price is right.

| I just ordered a sill from the seller on ebay. I emailed her directly and she sold it for $40 including shipping. It does not have the holes drilled but that is easy to do. I will let everyone know how it turns out plus I will post pictures.

They usually sell for about $26 plus shipping on there.

| I just went to a local sheet metal shop and had them bend it up out of 16 gauge steel. it was about 20 bucks so i couldn't complain. I could build them if i had a shear and a brake.

| Interesting way to do it. I am going one step farther and adding a sill over the under sill that attaches to the frame. I need to have the support brackets redone for the fenders as well as replace the frame mounts. take a look at my rear and you will see all the cancer.

| The rear sill will come in TWO pieces, what you see on the outside of the truck is more or less a cover piece which ties the rear bed into the rear sill. The sill is a long square box channel piece which is curved on both ends, the curved end is what the rear inner corners of the tub tie into(welded). Once the rear sill is attached to the frame and welded to the fenders the cover piece can be tied into the sill and rear bed; of course it is a bit more involved. CCOT and Real Steel make a good Rear Sill kit which will consist of the inner sill and the outer cover piece and should cost about $200-250+ shipping. In most cases both will have to be replaced as Toyota did not do a very good job at protecting this structural component from moisture trapping dirt. When replacing these components it is very important that the rear sill be coated in some sort of rust preventive, also use Weld Through primer in the necessary areas. Corey

| Thank Corey. You conveyed what I was trying to say very well. I bought the cover piece for $40 and am goin to make the under sill myself out of Box steel. It will add weight but will also add lots of structure support.

| I dont know if my work will help you at all but some others were nice enough to paste some links back to theirs that were a lot of help with mine!! I couldnt have asked for a nicer fit with mine. the added 2 inch 1/4 inch strap tied the whole thing together and minimized space for new mud to hold water. The actual sill was CCOT because nothing against them but the ebay ones that i saw didnt have the factory bends or the indention for rear ambulance door latch catch. Oh and the 2 inch strap was snug to the sill so it will allow a solid place to drill and tap to remount the door latch. I had just better hit it on the head the first time around.
Good luck
