Dropped it off at Urban Land Cruisers for a front axle rebuild and some brake and electrical work. Started reading through all the FAQs. Daydreamed about paint jobs.

Wow, good score Chuck B!! I'm mostly doing R&D stuff here at college, like working on the fixed window seal for the FJ55 series, keeping in communication with the company to produce a dash cap, and rebuilding the door hinges.
Need to figure out how to take the play out of my steering box on the 40.

This week? Ordered up all the parts for new tie rods and ends. Aparently, the tapers were different for the oem ends and they kept getting wollered out. I am going with 1 ton GM ends and contemplating ram assist too...

Bought two sm420 trannies, bought an AA kit, replaced rear main seal, replaced pan gasket, built removeable mud flaps, had clutch cover rebuilt, resurfaced flywheel, bought parts to build twin stick linkage, designed sliders i'll be building soon, talked to a guy about buying his full soft doors, did my taxes and plan on using the tax return on a new soft top i hope to be ordering next week. And still have 2 more days to work on it, installing parts and buying bolts, nuts, etc.

Exhaust System & Backup Camera
Finally got tired of the exhast getting into the cab and took the FJ40 in for a full exhast system.
Other cool mod; installed a backup camera. Camera is located in the rear bumber and I mounted the screen to the roolbar. Total cost $100.00 and it is great. With the lift and a bench seat in the rear I wasn't able to see directly behind the truck.
Has a cerating bling quaility that my seven year old digs.

Today I got it all loaded up for a little ride tommorrow to scout out a few new canyons. It was nice today so I pulled the doors off and let her breath a little.
Last night I pulled the range box off of the 203. Getting ready to build the doubler.
Also today, ran the new CB coax cable thru the new cage.
Admired the beauty of Land Cruisers over some cold Miller Lites!

Well lets see, after too much time not working on the 40 I got back to wrenchin. Welded/ fitted/mounted the master cylinder adapter plate I got from Degnol (thanks Ed). Mounted the proportioning valve. Made and routed brake lines from master to the lines mounted on the frame. Got the clutch master cylinder mounted/made up new lines to the slave cylinder since moving it to the other side. Bled the clutch system. Got the front brakes bled. Planning on bleeding the rears this weekend. Got started on reinstalling the steering column and all the crap associated therein. Maybe start putting the new gas tank in if I get lucky too.

I have converted the bj40's 1B engine to a 13B(3.4l). i recommend it for off road use, this engine has huge torque! it is a bit slow on the freeways though.

I installed a ARB HDAL kit, Heavy duty air line kit. Not that heavy duty and while tightening a swivel bushing it broke off, So i had to run for a hose shop on a Saturday to have a new one pressed. I received my 6amp guess charger so that is up next, i should do that this week.

Hi All:
Oh, this weekend I installed the new long-travel shocks in the rear, bolted-up the lengthened front drive shaft, re-installed the skid plate, and patched a hole in the "wind jammer" (rear curtain.)
Need to re-locate the front turn signals and trim the front fenders to clear the front tires (moved the axle forward about three inches.)
Regards,
Alan

Orion
Georg at Valley Hibrids (orangefj45) has rebuilt and re-installed the Orion. He does excellent work and as you can see is very detail oriented.
He has posted additional info about the install on the ROTW post
