Kunckle Overhaul on both sides, to start, which made me install all new tie rod ends. Then since the front was looking new, I went with new break lines and hoses as well. Put On a nice new bumper to support my winch and roller. Then I went wheeling and bent the U bolts on the front R\h side so I guess I'll have more to do next week.

treated my Ehsan soft top with Canvak and then broke my rear leaf springs on the passenger side on one hell of a pothole. I guess next week I'll be installing new lift springs

Bummer about the leaf springs...

Any photos of your Ehsan top installed?

Broke a passenger side birf. in rock crawl competition. Was all good though placed 5th out of 22. all others were hardcore modified Toy p/u's. Next weekend, rebuild the axle.

I went from this:

To this:

Last Thursday and drove it for the first time since last October. Drove it to work yesterday. I've got about 200 miles on the motor now. I must say having the engine balanced was a very worthwhile investment. It's super smooth. If it wasn't raining I would have driven it again today. I've still got some tuning to do but all in all i'm very happy with my bored/shaved head/balanced/cammed/2F . It's no V8 but it pulls pretty hard right past 4000 RPM's with no complaints.

started taking the body apart and cleaning it up.

Waiting on some paint, then the whole thing is coming apart and then the bits are headed to the media blaster then to the paint shop

Got my rear quarters welded up. I fabbed a floor pan out of 14 ga, the wheel wells are 12 ga, and the quarters are 16 ga. It's sturdy. I can't wait to get my rig back out on the road again. Haven't driven it in 2 years!!

I finally installed the 3.5" Alcans in the front of the 79 FJ40 then began to remove the old suspension from the rear of the 73 FJ40; PB blaster kicks a$$.

I painted and rebuilt my doors. New rubber, felt and snaps. Most of the rubber came with the cruiser when I purchased it 5 years ago, I just had to buy the wing window rubber and window seals. It sure is nice to drive without the windows and doors rattling.

Thats awesome....I need some rebuild kits for my doors.....I couldnt believe how much LESS they rattled after I put the OEM bows on.....That little support helped a lot....

The cost kept me from doing it for a long time. I was able to piece most of it together from parts I picked up from friends and the parts I bought it with. The wing window rubbers and the wipers / fuzzy do-hickies that ride against the windows cost me $160. Now I have to deal with the sound of the wind and all those frightening mechanical noises that I was never able to hear.
I plan on taking it up to the Navarro River in NorCal in a couple weeks for an 'Expedition' with my son and brother. We plan on doing some wheeling in the Lost Coast north of Mendocino.

North coast is beautiful, I have ridden my motorbike down there a few times.

If you stumble upon any remote/secluded camp sites and panoramic trails please let me know.
Wanted to head down there later this summer, but wanted better beta on the area.

I have been curious about the wheeling around that area...one of my favorite places to visit. How 'bout posting some pics and recounting some of the experience when you get back?

Garmin GA29 Marine GPS ant

Today install on the roof rack the GA29 GPS marine ext. antenna ( picture with the light blue marks) for my Garmin 376c...as you can see in the pics the signals and accuracy change in big time, have to said that the gps was on the driver seat for test mode ( factory ant shows with the red marks deleting my location ) ,not on the windshield mount and maybe thats why show little bars on the satellite´s signals but not much difference its was on the mount.
