New to me 40

Hey all, I've been lurking around this site for awhile. Since I now own a 40 I thought that I would say Hi. I paid 3k for her. What do you think? Be honest...

There will be more later... Cliff

Thing looks beefy! I like it. IMO I think 3k is a good price for it!

What year is it?

I thought the bezel was upside down! It's a 74. The 350 is nice on the power side. I have new seats coming monday. I can't wait...

great find for the price

if for some reason you don't like the rear tailgate doors, I'll gladly take them off you (fair price, of course)

The diamond plate is covering the hole from the original gas tank. It has a Conn-Fer gas tank under the rear. Does anyone know if the sending unit that came with that is compatible with the factory fuel gage?

Ditch the thornturds. They have all the benefits of driving MT tires on the road (loud, poopy handling) and all of the benefits of driving STs off road (poor traction, clog easily). The only plus they have is that they look cool to anyone who hasn't run them before.

Love the cup holder!

P.S. Is the base of the shifter normally that far under the heater? (I have column shift)

I doubt that it is. I've got an auxillary tank in mine that I'm using as the main tank and no tank under seat right now. The guage is hooked up to it and I constantly have 1/2 a tank of gas. Whether full or near empty. I'm still trying to find out what I can do to get the OEM guage to work with the aux. tank.

No. Mines at least 6 inches behind that location. Must be part of the conversion to whatever tranny is mated to that engine.

Yep, looks like your shackle angles are a little too straight up and down. How does it ride?

Rides like a Mack truck without the air working. The tranny and t-case is factory. Unfotunatly no factory gas tank. The t-turds are new so I'm going to run them till I can put nice m/t's.
