Any hope? Half rear doors for the BJ 40
I have been searching for the past hour both on the forum and Google. I know guys who own '75 and earlier Cruisers that have the half rear doors and the swing up hatch. I have been trying to figure out if a set of half rear doors from '75 or earlier will fit on my '80 BJ.
I have a soft top on order from softopguy and was trying to source a set of half rear doors. Has anyone tried this? If not my next move will be to go over to the salvage guy and see if he can find me a set of full half doors and get them cut down and fabbed nice for the application. Failing that I know a guy who can fab some from scratch for me but he'd need my rig to get accurate measurements if the pre-75 door frames vary that much from those from 80 and beyond. This is a problem as he is in the USA and my rig and I are here. I could use a little help here.

i'm pretty sure they would fit.. though you might have to do some modification to the doors since i believe '79 and later have the lower rounded corners for amby doors.. AND you'll have to drill more holes for the extra hinge - i think this is why most just make a tailgate that uses the amby door hinge bolt location
