It came with FSM and engine manual from 75 and the old PO's autoparts store receipts from Eagle, CO. FIL bought it from him in 94, now it's mine. It also had some rust that came along with it.

When I was removing my rusted out tub from the frame, in the front firewall area down near the vent opening I noticed a penny wedged back in the corner. It was stuck to the floor, but it lifted up easy and I found perfect white OEM floor paint and the penny was shiny new on the back side. My FJ40 is a mid-year '79 and the penny was from '79, so I think it's been there since the truck was new...
I felt the penny needed to transfer to the new Aqualu tub. So I drilled a hole in the back of the glovebox and one in the penny and riveted it to the inside of the glovebox. That penny had been with the FJ40 for almost 30 years, so it gets to stay with the truck for the next 30 years. Plus, I'm hoping it brings some good luck/karma! |

Oh sure, small framed Aviators with the wrap around arms. I kept a pair with me at all times while I was in the Army. Think I still got a pair tucked away somewhere around here. I've got the same case too.

Spare unused inlet and two exhaust valves.
Truck seems 100% complete except for owner manual and tool kit and a few bits of body that have rusted off. Selller even gave me me the corner of the front bumper that the PO's father had torn off on a tree stump (I think it was already creased and rusted)! __________________ FJ45 '75 & FJ45 '76 Stafford - UK |

coolest thing i found was a FJ55 manual in the 55 that came with my 45...its in pretty good shape i think, its been a while since i looked at it. save for some moron writing their grocery list on the cover and iirc there is one page missing out of the back. but still a cool find. found it in the glove box

My 45 actually had some other stuff in the glove box. I went through it while the truck was on my trailer waiting in the ferry line (my avatar photo). All in toyota boxes, there were a set of rings, bearings, an oil pump maybe a few more new 'f' engine parts. As it was about Jan 4 or so, I had a bottle of champagne that had rolled under the seat of my f350, left over from new years. I decided to open it and have a glass in a discarded paper coffee cup while waiting for the ferry, and of course to celebrate the new arrival. The full cup was on the floor of the 45 while I rifled through the glove box and something fell and dropped into the cup. I kept drinking from it, thinking it was a small nut or something. When I got to the bottom, it was a used bandaid rolled up like around a finger ... So I think that's the grossest thing I've found in any old truck. Good thing he left me the sunglasses. If anyone wants the engine parts, pm me and you get them for shipping. I will have to check the sizes......
