no

no, others will chime in too, but different latch mechanisms, I think different window top parts too. I could be wront but I believe the actual space they fill is the same, but the way they latch would be a stopper without mods.

Hinge difference

Spector catalog says '75-'84 are a different style from pre-'75 models. Visually I can't make out the difference.

i just put some 72 doors on my 79, which is the same scenerio.

The only major diffrence is the door latches/ strikers. I believe the old ones will bolt up, but i have not tried it yet. I currently have my doors bungy corded shut. Also the doors are a hair more narrow on the sides, but height is perfect. I dont have a top so im not sure how water tight they may be.

If you get the latch strikers you should be fine.

However if you run a hardtop you'll need to get steel panel that goes above the doors - the top of the dorrs are a slightly different shape...

If you can get late model doors, you'll be much happier, there are quite a few differences, when taken together, amount to a major upgrade. Much quieter, tighter, with less rattling. The early doors will fit fine with latch mods. Weatherstrip of any quality for the early doors is very expensive (you'd want OEM).
