Timing Problems 77FJ55 with '84 2F
Hi,
I have a '77 pig with a '84 2f I installed a year ago. Originally I kept the same coil, distributor, carburetor from the '77 because it all worked well (and I didn't have a newer coil). Coil is dead now so I got one from a fellow mudder (Torslinninig ) out of a '83 project he has. Coil is installed and sparking nice n hot. I took out the '77 dizzy and reinstalled the '84 dizzy that came with the engine. Carburetor is a fresh rebuild from Jim C ! Engine is desmogged. I can only get the timing bb near the line by fully advancing the distributor and attaching the vac advance to the outside point (advance). Truck will run and drive but it isn't happy. What do you say? Thanks! -K __________________ '77PIG w/84 FJ60 2F, 31" BFG AT's, otherwise 100% stock rust n bondo. '65 VW Bus lowered, IRS Bug Tranny, 1600 DP w/Dual Kadrons and no brake lights :(.
