carb/intake spacer? Throttle linkage pics?

Have a 72 fj40 with original intake manifold but PO had a rochester carb on it. Just installed a 75 Aisin cali-spec carb and the throttle linkage hits the top of the intake manifold when i manually push the linkage to rev it up. (1)Wondering if there is a spacer to raise the carb up i dont know about. (2)Also, i need pics of the throttle linkage so i can get the gas pedal hooked up. (3)Also, what is the orientation of the carb on the intake, throttle linkage towards the firewall or towards the front of vehicle??(4)Lastly, the tube coming off the carb in the pic(EGR?) is taped off until i get a cap since i have no smog equipment, wondering if there is supposed to be fuel that collects at end of that pipe.

what kind of linkage do you have now? 72 should have a throttle cable assembly and the 75 would have had a rod linkage assembly. The 75 would have had a carb issolator which is aprox 1" thick
The fuel window of the carb faces forward. not sure what tube your referring to, maybe a pic?

Ask in the parts-wanted section. Someone will chime in...
