Cool! My first post!
I am a newbie with a 1970 FJ40. It has a small block Chevy with a 3sp. Toyota gearbox and transfer case. She is somewhere between rough and not as bad as I thought. I swapped a 73 Coupe Deville for it. I have been working on her for a about the last 3 weekends. She looks much better now since I have cleaned her up and began stripping her down.
I have horsetraded some other junk I have for a complete K5 Blazer drivetrain consisting of a 12 bolt rear, NP203 transfer case, Dana front end and a TH350 tranny. The steering gear has already been swapped to a powered GM box. I have fuel cell I am installing in the under rear floor(I was not big on the idea of having my passenger sitting over the gas tank.) I am planning on painting her Dakar Yellow like the Defender 90's. I am hopping to have her completed by winter.

Why does moving the tank 3 ft farther away make people feel safer? I like having it up out of the way where it's not dragging on rocks.
Welcome - now lets see the pictures.....

Here is my second attempt to post pictures! Maybe this time it will work. I have done a lot of work since these photos were taken so she doesn't quite look like a turd.
